Are people born with innovative skills or is it learnt from experience?
I believe it can be learnt.
Creativity and innovation is a logical and structured process that requires a deliberate mind focus. This means developing the discipline to stop, think and behave differently – especially when under workplace pressure.
Is it easy to apply the skills of leadership outlined in your book “Corporate Utopia – Finding Nirvana with High Potential Leaders”?
In practice, I have found that new managers often have a lot of self doubt, especially “how far they can go” within their authorised boundaries.
Managers need to recognise that leadership is the perception of the follower. We may think that we are doing a good job but it is really what our people thinking that is important.
How would your book be relevant to a company run by an individual, since most of the case studies are for a team environment?
Sometimes it is easiest to create an innovative environment when there is only yourself.
It is vital for any individual to know what their motivators and fear factors are and you need to know how to deal with these personal challenges.
